(ANSA-AFP) - LONDON, APRIL 28 - The British Electoral Commission has announced that it has opened an investigation into the luxurious renovation of Prime Minister Boris Johnson's Downing Street apartment accused of spending more than he was allowed.
The prime minister receives a public check for £ 30,000 to spend in the house at number 10, while Johnson and his fiancée Carrie Symonds appear to have spent a whopping 200,000.
"There are reasonable grounds to suspect that one or more crimes have been committed. We will continue to work to see if this is the case," the watchdog said.
