The police in Saxony searched 34 apartments on suspicion of child pornography.
The public prosecutor and police in Dresden announced that more than 200 police officers were involved in raids in Dresden, Meißen and Pirna and neighboring places.
The investigations are therefore directed against 30 suspects.
During the police operation, the investigators confiscated 78 cell phones, 54 computers and several hundred storage media.
These would now be evaluated.
According to the information, a total of 25 individual investigations are pending against the suspects.
With the searches, the investigators said they wanted to counter a recent significant increase in investigative proceedings for child and youth pornography.
Recently there were several large raids nationwide.
At the end of November 2020, several apartments in Berlin, Baden-Württemberg, Rhineland-Palatinate and Schleswig-Holstein were searched.
In addition, last January the police and public prosecutor launched a nationwide raid on 65 suspects who are said to have owned and distributed recordings of child abuse.
These proceedings had resulted from the investigation into the Bergisch Gladbach abuse complex, the police said at the time.
