According to actress Collien Ulmen-Fernandes, women with children are disadvantaged in their industry.
"
My child was six months old when I was first offered a role - with a cover letter in which they apologized for asking me even though I had become a mother," the 39-year-old told the magazine of the
"
Stuttgarter Zeitung".
“A
lot of actresses haven't received offers for years. Some remain childless because they know that otherwise they will only be out for a few years. "
When she is far away to film, in contrast to her male colleagues, she is always asked:
“
And who's with the child?” Ulmen-Fernandes, who is married to the actor Christian Ulmen, said:
“
Ultimately, a mother can't do it at all get it right.
If she stays at home, she is the little house on the stove and squanders her husband's money, even though she invests a lot of time in care work.
If, on the other hand, you work, you are considered a bad mother.
This thinking has to change so that women have real freedom of choice. "
"
We live in a pseudo-equality"
Ulmen-Fernandes repeatedly speaks out on social issues.
She had already denounced the lack of equal rights last year.
"
We live in a pseudo-equality," she told the newspapers of the Funke media group.
"
There are a lot of men who join in a little and then talk about equality that is not really given."
According to her own statements, she now lives equally with her husband.
"
If, for example, our daughter is sick, we check who can cancel their appointments more easily, and they'll stay at home," says Ulmen-Fernandes
The actress has been married to Christian Ulmen since 2011.
In April 2012, the two parents had a daughter.
