The athlete was also part of the National Council of Coni (ANSA)  Italian sport in mourning: Filippo Mondelli, world rowing champion in 2018 in the quadruple scull, is dead, ANSA learns. Mondelli, who was part of the Coni National Council at altitude, had an osteosarcoma in his left leg. The Como champion would have turned 27 on 18 June.
