Prince William and Duchess Kate celebrated their tenth wedding anniversary on Thursday.
In two new photos that the Kensington Palace published for the anniversary, the couple appeared with a beaming smile and a deep embrace.
After Prince Harry and his wife Meghan withdrew from the front row of the royals, 38-year-old William and 39-year-old Kate are considered the main hopes of the British royal family.
William, grandson of Queen Elizabeth II and second in line to the British throne, met Kate in 2001 at the University of St. Andrews, Scotland.
After more than seven years of relationship, he proposed to her while on vacation in Kenya in 2010 - with his mother Diana's engagement ring.
On April 29, 2011, the two tied the knot in Westminster Abbey - in front of around two billion television viewers.

However, William and Kate are now largely trying to keep their private and family life out of the media.
They do publish official photos of their three children.
Kate mostly photographs seven-year-old George, but almost six-year-old Charlotte and three-year-old Louis herself.
William and Kate are the most normal family that has ever existed in the British royal family, said the monarchy expert Penny Junor before the wedding day.

The Queen also congratulates
With their down-to-earth and scandal-free manner, they have also captured the hearts of many Britons: William and Kate are the most popular royals after the Queen. According to surveys, William is much more popular than his 72-year-old father Prince Charles - around a third of Britons want him to be the direct heir to the throne of the Queen. According to a recent YouGov poll, two thirds of British people have a positive opinion of Kate. The queen also congratulated the couple.

Wish the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge a happy wedding anniversary,

it said on the Royal Family Twitter page.
Their tenth wedding anniversary falls at a difficult time.
In addition to the corona pandemic, which hit the United Kingdom particularly hard, the royals are mourning Prince Consort Philip, who died on April 9 at the age of 99.
An interview with William's younger brother Harry and his wife Meghan had previously caused a stir, in which the couple raised allegations of racism against the British royal family, among other things.
As a result, there was speculation about a permanent rift between William and Harry.
At Prince Philips' funeral, however, the two brothers had exchanged a few words in front of the public.
