Members of the Bundeswehr discovered a skeletonized body during a diving exercise last Tuesday in Lake Starnberg.
Parts of the body were brought ashore by police divers.
That is what the police said.
According to this, a diver from the Bundeswehr would have first discovered a skull in the northern area of Lake Starnberg at a depth of about 40 meters.
He also found light-colored sneakers sticking out of the silt at the bottom of the lake.
Police divers finally pulled skeletonized body parts and several pieces of clothing ashore, it said.
The investigators hope for clues through photos of the shoes.
According to the police, however, there is so far no evidence of the identity of the deceased.
The resting time of the bones cannot yet be narrowed down more precisely.
An examination in forensic medicine showed no signs of external violence.
