A

humpback whale

about eight meters long was found dead on the shore of a spa located in the Faro area, on a beach in the south of Mar del Plata.

The specimen was found by surfers who arrived very early in the morning at the Malibu resort to get into the sea.

That is how they discovered the animal

without vital signs

Rodrigo Goncalves, head of Civil Defense, said on a Radio Brisas mobile that "it is a humpback whale, similar to the one that appeared a few years ago in Punta Mogotes, but smaller."

Civil Defense began with the tasks to remove the body, "also giving intervention to areas that have direct responsibility with issues related to

marine animals

so that they can make the pertinent evaluations."

The person in charge of the organism said later that it was important that nobody approached the animal because they tend to swell and can affect "public health."

Civil Defense Authorities and Park Rangers arrived minutes after 9 o'clock at the place to start the corresponding procedure to

remove the body

With regard to the reasons for the whale's death, at first glance the animal

does not present external lesions

.

The first indications allow us to believe in the possibility that the cetacean died of natural causes in the water and was dragged by the waves to the beaches near the Lighthouse.
