This Thursday, the
last batch of Sinopharm vaccines
against the coronavirus arrived on an Aerolineas Argentinas flight.
With this shipment, of one million doses, the four million that the country had contracted from China were completed.
Unlike the previous shipments, for the first time President Alberto Fernández went to the Ezeiza Airport to receive it.
He was accompanied by the Chief of Cabinet, Santiago Cafiero, the Minister of Health, Carla Vizzotti, and the head of Aerolineas Argentinas, Pablo Ceriani.
Flight 1051 from Beijing arrived in Ezeiza after 7pm, after having made a stopover in Madrid during the morning.
1 million doses of the Sinopharm vaccine arrived in the country ✈️.
With this new landing, the country exceeds 10 million vaccines received, 9 million were transported by the # FlagAirline 🇦🇷.

Official sources told
Clarín
that the million doses could be brought in a single plane, since the boxes to be transported have "less volume" than those brought so far.
In this operation, each box contains three vials of the vaccine, which is why the volume of the load is reduced.
Between Sunday and Wednesday, on the other hand, another shipment of a million was brought but with a different packaging that required three aircraft.
"The boxes of the vaccines produced by the China National Pharmaceutical Group Corp 'are in turn packed in containers called' envirotainers' that, according to the strict indication of the laboratory, can only be transported in the aircraft hold area" , said the Presidency in a statement.
This is the fourth Sinopharm vaccinated plane to arrive in half a week.
At 22.45 this Wednesday, Lufthansa flight LH8264 from China landed, via Frankfurt, with 244,800 doses of Sinopharm to complete the million received this week.

It was the third flight scheduled through a joint operation between Aerolineas Argentinas and the German airline.
On Sunday, flight AR1061 arrived from the national flag line with 384,000 doses and on Monday AR1051 arrived with another 371,200.
The new doses of Sinopharm will be destined to complete the vaccination schedules already started, in accordance with the recommendation agreed at the meetings of the National Immunization Commission and the Federal Health Council that were held last week.
The decision to apply the newly arrived Sinopharm vaccines as a second dose is due to the fact that
no new contracts were signed with the Chinese company
, so the arrival of new doses in the future is not certain.
700,000 doses of Sputnik V vaccine will arrive tomorrow
In the early hours of this Thursday, a new Aerolineas Argentinas flight left for Moscow that will return on Friday with a batch of
700,000 doses of the Sputnik V vaccine
against the coronavirus, as confirmed by
Clarín
with official sources.
The entire shipment is made up of
component 1
of the vaccine.
In other words, these are sufficient doses for 700,000 people to receive the first application of the immunization.
Under flight number AR1064, the plane took off at two in the morning and it will take about 17 hours to land at Moscow's Sheremetievo International Airport.
The last batch of Sputnik V had landed in Ezeiza on Monday, April 19 at night: it was then a load of 800 thousand doses of component 1.
So far, there have been 11 operations completed by Airlines to Russia and
5,267,745 doses
of the vaccine manufactured by the Gamaleya Institute
have been brought to the country
.
