(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 03 - Proud Boys Canada, the far-right organization included by Ottawa in the list of terrorist groups at the beginning of this year, has dissolved.
This was announced by the organization with a statement published on the Telegram channel of Proud Boys USA.
The group in the United States was considered one of the main protagonists of the assault on the Capitol last January 6 and several of its members are under investigation.
"The truth is, we have never been terrorists or a white supremacist group," the Proud Boys wrote on Telegram. "We are electricians, carpenters, financial consultants, mechanics, etc. Furthermore, we are fathers, brothers, uncles and children", reads again in the statement of the group created in 2016 by GavinMcInnes, a Canadian living in the United States. In February, Canadian Public Security Minister Bill Blair said the organization posed a "threat to public safety and had played a vital role in the attack" on Capitol Hill. (HANDLE).
