The

of Fedez statements during the big concert of May went to touch a subject that had been particularly controversial

in previous days, and had triggered a heated political debate on the so-called "bill Zan".

His words and the declarations of preventive censorship by RAI could therefore only raise a great deal of fuss.

And so it was.

Political and trade union leaders, media, and associations have made statements on the issue.

With most of these aligned in favor of the position of the singer, and influencers, and others, a minority, instead openly opposed.

If this is the extreme summary of what has happened in this regard in the last two days, more generally what was the position of the Italians on the matter?

To answer the question

ANSA and DataMediaHub analyzed the online conversations on the topic

(social + online news + blog and forum) from May 1st to yesterday midnight.

Overall in about thirty hours the online citations relating to Fedez were more than 487 thousand, by over 37 thousand unique authors, whose contents involved (likes + shares + comments) 4.1 million people.

The

peak of such conversations occurred between 11.15pm and 11.30pm on Labor Day. In a quarter of an hour, more than 22 thousand 1,466 citations per minute

.

The media coverage is very large and in fact the potential range of this volume of conversations is 845 billion impressions.

Potential capacity that we reasonably estimate to have actually been, gross of duplications, 42.5 billion impressions, exposures to content related to Fedez and its statements.

If we exclude the different online news magazines, the post that generated the

most involvement is that of the former Premier, Giuseppe Conte

, who tweeted his position on the matter saying that «I'm with #Fedez.

No censorship ».

Tweet yesterday morning that has obtained the involvement, in succinct terms, of over 60 thousand people. Of these, more than 8,000 retweets alone.

If this is already a first indication of the sentiment of Italians on the issue, from our analysis it clearly emerges that

support for Fedez's positions is almost unanimous, and in addition to the favor towards a law that regulates and sanctions, more than today the 'homotransphobia, the accusations against RAI, the well-known political subdivision

of the state broadcaster, and the related preventive censorship, judged "scandalous", have been loudly raised, as shown by the word cloud in our infographic of summary of the results.

Finally, for once, contrary to what usually happens for political and social issues, it

was the voice of women that rose more than that of men

. Between 18 and 34, on the other hand, the age of those who more than others participated in online conversations on the issue.

This is also an evident sign of how much the issue of discrimination against the GLBT universe is felt by the youngest.
