Reason for concern in Israel: For the

 first time today (Monday), two cases of the Brazilian variant among returnees abroad (infant and vaccinated adult) were identified in Israel, as well as the first case of the Chilean variant among a vaccinated Israeli who returned from abroad.

The cases were identified using the National Genomic Flooring Array.

Also, 19 more verified Indian vertebrae were discovered among foreigners.

In total, 60 cases have been discovered to date.

There is still no clear information regarding these variants and their implications for vaccinated and recovering patients.

The Ministry of Health will continue to update on additional findings as they become.

The Ministry of Health stated: "We mention the recommendation to the entire population, including the vaccinated and recovering, to avoid unnecessary travel abroad.

"We reiterate that those who have returned from abroad and are not vaccinated or recovering are required for isolation. In addition, from level 2 countries where morbidity is severe, those who are vaccinated and recover are also required to be isolated."

These three infections were diagnosed after 51 new infections were diagnosed in Israel yesterday, which is 0.2% out of 27,563 tests.

At the same time, 41 carriers were identified today which is 0.3% of 19,524 new tests.

Also, the number of hospitalized stands at 168, with 97 of them in critical condition.

At the same time, the number of respirators is 63. The coefficient of infection is 0.78.

Meanwhile, the number of recipients of the first vaccine dose is 5,405,320 people, which is 58.13% of the Israeli population. The number of recipients of the second vaccine dose is 5,057,234 people, which is 54.38% of all Israelis. The number of people infected with the virus in the country since the outbreak of the disease stands at 838,621 people, while currently only 1259 people are infected with the virus. The death toll from the plague stands at 6,367 people, after one person died today.
