The blessed return of restaurants to our lives does not eliminate the collective existential need, the one that is bubbling up more and more during this period, for good food, which came from a good place, and an excellent commuter to the perfect picnic.

weather outside - probably the only few weeks in the calendar year of this country where this formula can really be cracked - and the approaching holiday sent us all rummaging through diaries and notebooks, testimonial pages and private Google favorites.

All to find some food, and some alcohol, and some green, and if possible, have it all together.



That is exactly why we were happy to discover the new project of the Galilee Mountains Winery, designed to give us just all of that.

The veteran winery took advantage of the launch of the revitalized AVIV series, connected to nature and positive Israeliness, and returned with ten recommendations for excellent local delicacies, alongside views, trails, landscapes and ... yes, also a perfect picnic spot.

Hila Vizhar Sahar's restaurant is located in the heart of the Valley of the Springs, facing the views of the Jordan, and inside a historic building that served as a station for the valley train. They took advantage of the Corona period to set up an invested pantry, and allow their guests to stop for a moment for a high and stunning view towards the Sea of ​​Galilee, the valley and the Valley of the Springs.

Kibbutz Dafna's old dining room also serves as a local deli, featuring fresh, old-fashioned meat products, burgers, sausages and hand-made kebabs.

It is an extension of "Klompos" and "Fukacha", with pantry products, delicious cheeses, a rich wine section, kitchen utensils and an excellent view of the mountain that climbs to Mount Hermon.



Recommended route:

A bicycle trip in the kibbutz, including Nahal Dan, which flows within its boundaries.

We walk from the cemetery in Snir until we connect to a black path with which we descend to the Banias (Nahal Hermon), where we can see a Syrian tank that fell during the Six Day War.

An avocado grove in the quiet moshav in the Hefer Valley in Sharon is also the starting point of this magical hill.

You can find here quality cheeses made from cow's milk, sheep and goat, which are produced by traditional methods, as well as an active visitor center that allows you to see the work of the gibbon and the aging rooms of the cheeses.
