(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 04 - Restoring confidence in travel and tourism and enabling economic recovery, learning from the pandemic experience and prioritizing a sustainable development agenda in guiding future tourism. These steps to be undertaken - according to what ANSA has learned - indicated in the draft of the document of the meeting of the G20 tourism ministers, gathered under the Italian Presidency and in the presence of Minister Massimo Garavaglia, which are carried out in guidelines in 7 key areas: safe mobility, management crisis, resilience, inclusivity, green transformation, digital transition and investment and infrastructure.
Tourism - it is again underlined in the draft - continues to be one of the sectors hardest hit by the pandemic, with international tourist arrivals down 73% globally in 2020 and unprecedented impacts on vulnerable groups and small and medium-sized enterprises, and with almost 62 million jobs lost globally, which represent a cheaper than 18.5%, with a prospect that remains highly uncertain. The recovery of travel and tourism is crucial for the global economic recovery. (HANDLE).
