ETNA - "A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away ..." is one of the most successful opening words in the history of cinema and, if inventing planets, characters and conflicts was a prerogative of the extraordinary imagination of George Lucas, who in the distant 1977 directed the first film, visiting the places of the film saga is an adventure for everyone.

On the occasion of May 4 (May the 4th), also known as Star Wars Day, here is a journey suggested by Musement to rediscover the atmosphere that made this story indelible and, why not, let yourself be touched by the Force.

Wadi Rum, Jordan

- The exotic valley sixty kilometers from Aqaba is currently the only confirmed open air location for filming the latest episode of Star Wars, but it's not new to the Skywalker saga; also the scenes on the planet of Jedha of the first spin-off released in 2016 “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” were set in this desert with warm colors and a magical atmosphere. With the Bedouin populations who for millennia have inhabited the "Valley of the Moon" labyrinths of monolithic rocks, shaped by the wind and time.

Royal Palace of Caserta, Italy

- Fans will recognize in the architecture of the Royal Palace of Caserta the places of one of the heroines most loved by fans of the genre; in the extraordinary structure a few steps from Naples the scenes inside the Palazzo di Naboo by Padmé Amidala were shot and it was the set for two films of the saga "Star Wars: The Phantom Menace" and "Star Wars: The attack of the clones ". One of the most beautiful palaces in Italy, built by the architect Vanvitelli on an area of 45,000 square meters with an austere style on the outside but richly decorated inside, with 1,200 rooms, 134 stairways and countless stuccos, bas-reliefs, frescoes and sculptures , and with beautiful gardens and fountains all around.

Etna, Italy

- The battle of Mustafar is epic, opposing Obi-Wan Kenobi in the final stages of “Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith” Obi-Wan Kenobi and his protégé Anakin Skywalker, now totally gone to the dark side. The scenes between flames and lava, which lead to the defeat of the padawan who later became the feared Lord Darth Vader, take their cue from an eruption on Etna: George Lucas sent a crew there to capture the most spectacular images of the active volcano.

Reynisfjara and Eyjafjallajökull, Iceland

- Fifth by extension among the Icelandic glaciers, Eyjafjallajökull was the set where the scenes of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" were shot, set on the Starkiller base where Kylo Ren and the young woman are opposed Rey against a white and snowy background. Iceland is not new to the saga, already for "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" the black beach of Reynisfjara was the setting for the first scenes on the planet Eadu. A land of great charm and magic, Iceland offers breathtaking views, glimpses that go to the discovery of the southern side, along the coast and venturing up to the glaciers.

Death Valley, United States

- Star Wars rhymes with Tatooine, a desert planet that became legendary as the birthplace of the Skywalker family where Anakin was born and Luke grew up. Nominated several times in various episodes, it is always presented as arid and inhospitable, nothing closer to the US Death Valley, so much so that the desert scenes set on the planet were shot in this national park in the chapter "Star Wars: A New Hope ". Between the salt flats of Badwater Basin, the lowest point in the western hemisphere, Dante's View, Zabriskie Point and Furnace Creek an experience ... galactic!
