(ANSA) - MADRID, MAY 04 - Five activists of the Femen feminist collectivist were stopped by the Spanish police in Madrid this morning after they unexpectedly showed up at the polling station where RocíoMonasterio, candidate of the far-right Vox party, was called to vote for the regional elections. They are reported by the Spanish media.
The five women were shirtless and held signs with messages of protest against "political and institutional fascism".
Police arrested them for "resistance" and "serious obedience", according to the Efe news agency.
Monasterio had queued to vote with her husband Iván Espinosa de los Monteros, Vox's national deputy. The two collected flyers thrown by Femen activists and threw them in a garbage can. "The streets must remain clean," said Espinosa. Vox's candidate, after voting, argued that these elections "will change Spanish politics". (HANDLE).
