Trial after the violence in Hamburg

The Hamburg district court sentenced a 50-year-old to life imprisonment on Tuesday.
According to a court spokesman, the judges considered it proven that the defendant doused his ex-wife and their son with gasoline and set them on fire.
The man was found guilty of attempted murder, assault and arson.
All those involved survived the act with severe permanent damage to health.
The accused himself was marked by the fact, disfigured and suffered from pain, said the presiding judge.
The board is convinced that the man attacked his divorced wife with a razor on May 1 last year.
The then 40-year-old had previously stated that the separation was final.
When the mother's ten-year-old son came to the rescue, the father poured gasoline over them and the twelve-year-old daughter.
Then he set fire to the woman and the son.
He also set himself on fire with gasoline.
The daughter was able to escape to the balcony of the apartment in the Lurup district and call for help.
The public prosecutor's office demanded life imprisonment for him in the process and additionally the determination of the particular gravity of the guilt.
The defense pleaded for a maximum of eight years imprisonment for dangerous bodily harm.
