(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 05 - The birth rate in the United States has reached the lowest level in the last 50 years.
It finds a study by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) that pinpoints the economic uncertainty caused by the coronavirus pandemic as the cause.

The rate has been declining for over 10 years but in the year of Covid it reached 1.6 per woman, well below the 2.1 necessary for a generational change
