Two tourists, a Russian and a Taiwanese, defined on social media as "influencers", may be deported from Bali, Indonesia, after uploading a video of them walking around in public places with a mask painted on their faces.
In the video, which soon went viral, one of them is seen entering a local supermarket with her face painted blue, simulating a face mask. This, in violation of the local corona restrictions in Indonesia, which require wearing a (real ...) mask in public places.
Insider reports that the two are Lia Se (known as "Lisha"), who has more than 25,000 followers on Instagram and Josh Faller-Lin, a YouTuber with more than three million followers. At the beginning of the video, Lia Se is seen trying to enter a supermarket without a mask at all. After she is refused, she returns to the place again - this time with the deceptive blue makeup.
The video was first uploaded on April 22, to a Facebook page titled Facebook Exclusive Pranks.
It has since been deleted, but has been found elsewhere across the network.

"We apologize. We just wanted to entertain"
Local news company Coconuts Bali reported that Indonesia's immigration department has confirmed that the passports of the two involved in the hoax were confiscated by it, and their deportation from the country is currently being considered.
About two days after the video was released, the duo sent a social apology to social media, which was published on Faller-Lin's Instagram account. In the video, they appear alongside members of the legal team hired to protect them. A legal source in the state noted that "we monitor the legal process, and encourage others to abide by the rules of wearing masks."
"The intent behind the preparation of this video was not at all related to disrespect or encouragement of not wearing masks," Faller-Lynn explains in the apology video.
"I made this video to entertain people. I create content - and my job is to entertain. However, I did not understand that what I did could lead to negative reactions on social media. We want to apologize for a dish we did and promise not to do it again. I invite everyone in Indonesia "Always wear a mask, for the safety and health of us all. This is in order to help Bali's tourism industry recover."
