Emmanuel Macron will attend, this Thursday, the opening of a new large vaccination center at Porte de Versailles, in Paris, which will participate in "the ramp-up of the vaccination campaign", announced the Elysee on Tuesday.
The Head of State is expected in the middle of the morning at the Parc des Expositions, where major exhibitions such as Agriculture are held, in the company of Health Ministers Olivier Véran and Interior Ministers Gérald Darmanin.
The vaccination center, installed in one of its buildings, "will accommodate 20 vaccination lines and perform up to 2000 injections per day", according to the Elysee.
It will be managed by the Paris Fire Brigade.
This huge place offers the possibility of "vaccinating outside as well as inside," said Anne Souyris (EELV), Anne Hidalgo's health assistant, to the Parisian in April.
Additional doses
According to our information, the vaccination center expected to have "Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca and perhaps Janssen", according to Anne Souyris.
On Doctolib, only the two messenger RNA vaccines are currently available and no appointment is yet available.
As we specified at the end of April, it will in all cases be additional doses assigned to Paris and not doses withdrawn from other centers in the capital.
The government has set itself the goal of reaching the 20 million mark for the first doses injected by May 15, then 30 million a month later.
This Tuesday, 16.4 million first doses and 6.9 million second doses had been totaled.
The campaign will be officially open to everyone over 50 on May 15, and to all adults on June 15. For this, France expects more vials of the four vaccines authorized in May (4.5 million doses per week) and June (6.9 million weekly).
