Looks wonderful, but is still very easy to bake - even for beginners: you only need ready-made puff pastry, a real all-purpose weapon for quick baking, strawberries, cream and sugar.

Recipe for Strawberry Puff Pastry Hearts for Mother's Day - Only 5 Ingredients
For a strawberry puff pastry heart you will need:
1 puff pastry from the refrigerated shelf (270 g each)
Sugar for sprinkling
100 g strawberries
100 g cream
1 packet of vanilla sugar
For the frosting:
110 g powdered sugar
1 tbsp water
1 tbsp cherry juice
When it is not the strawberry season, a puff pastry heart also tastes good with other fruit, such as raspberries or cherries.
Only frozen berries are unfortunately not so suitable as they get mushy when thawed.

Mother's Day Recipe: How to Bake the Strawberry Puff Pastry Hearts
Preheat the oven to 200 ° C top / bottom heat.
Roll out the
puff pastry
and cut it into a square about 20 x 20 centimeters.
Use a knife or pizza cutter to cut a large heart out of the square.

Pierce the puff pastry heart several times with a fork and brush it with a little water.
Sprinkle some
sugar
on top.
Now bake the heart in the oven on the middle rack for 15-20 minutes.
After that, take it out and let it cool down.
Wash the
strawberries
, remove the green cups and cut them into slices.
Beat the
cream
together with the
vanilla sugar until
stiff.

Cut the cooled puff pastry heart open like a bread roll.
Brush the lower part with the whipped cream, distribute the strawberry slices evenly on top and then put the lid on.
Finally, prepare the
pink icing
: mix the powdered sugar with the water and stir continuously with a whisk so that no lumps are formed.
Finally, add the cherry juice and stir it in to create the pink color.
Spread the pink icing on the puff pastry heart.
Process the leftover dough
The remnants of the puff pastry are of course not thrown away, that would be a shame.
Instead, you can put the leftovers on top of each other and roll them out (do not knead, puff pastry doesn't do well with that!)
Then you can cut out small hearts, lightly sugar them and bake them for 10 minutes with the big heart.
