UEFA has authorized the teams that will play the next European football championship, from 11 June to 11 July, to summon 26 players instead of the usual 23, to face the risks of contamination and quarantine from Covid-19.
The first to ask for an expansion of the group was the Italy coach, Roberto Mancini. On the scoresheet of each match, UEFA specifies, only 23 players will have to appear "for each match", specifies the European Football Association in a statement.
The selectors will be able to modify this list during the tournament thanks to the three additional players.
