(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 05 - "We have about 800 tax laws, and therefore we need 800 explanations, implementation circulars, declinations, from here. If you want a simple administration, Parliament will clean up 800 laws and make few and simple ones ". Thus the director of the Inland Revenue Ernesto Maria Ruffini in the Tax Registry commission underlining that the tax reform is also an opportunity to "clean up the excessive standardization". Ruffini recalled that in 1954 the declarations (on paper) were submitted by March 31 "now with the pre-filled on line we arrive at the presentation in November". In particular, a simplification is required, in the opinion of Ruffini,for all the relative regulations and the numerous tax expenditures that arrive all in the pre-filled form.
As for the pre-filled 730, Ruffini stressed that in 2020 "the declarations transmitted directly by the citizen without the intervention of intermediaries concerned 3.8 million taxpayers" equal to 17% of the total of the 730 received and almost triple compared to 1.4 million in 2015. This year the pre-filled 730 will be available starting May 10th. The Revenue Agency also works on a pre-completed VAT return. "The annual VAT return, said Ruffini, will be made available to taxpayers starting from the operations of January 1, 2022" (ANSA).
