The Oktoberfest, the German beer festival held annually and attracting visitors from all over the world, has been canceled for the second year, due to the Corona plague.
Marcus Zoder, the governor of the state of Bavaria in Germany, says that holding large-scale events in Bavaria is not feasible these days.

However, the German media reported that not everything is lost for beer lovers and festivals, as the festival - which lasts 16 days - will be held at the Dubai Marina in the UAE.
There it will even be spread over about half a year and will include breweries, inns and staff members who will be flown from Germany.
Celebrities who have already been invited include Arnold Schwarzenegger, Stephen Siegel and Pamela Anderson.

"This has been confirmed by the authorities in Dubai, with the understanding that guests who get drunk will be transported back to their hotels, by buses," said Charles Bloom, one of the festival's organizers, during an interview on one of Munich's radio stations.

However, the organizers of the Oktoberfest said that this is not the original event, and the festival to be held in Dubai is a separate event.
"The Oktoberfest is an original event in Munich and takes place exclusively in Munich," said one city spokesman.
"The plans that are now being published are not related to the event organizers or the Munich municipality."

According to Zoder, in the big beer tents at the festival, it is impossible to apply the limits of social distance nor wearing masks.
"Imagine this leading to a new wave - the brand will be hurt forever. We do not want that to happen."
The Daily Mail reports that every year, the Oktoberfest, which takes place at the end of September, is visited by about six million visitors.
In 2020 it was abolished for the first time since World War II.
It was also noted that in the distant past, the Oktoberfest was damaged by cholera epidemics, which raged in Germany in 1854 and 1873 - leaving the beer tents empty of people.
