The Buenos Aires Police raided and closed a nursing home without authorization that worked in a house in Quilmes, in the south of the Buenos Aires suburbs.
There were fourteen older adults who were victims of
mistreatment
by staff.
In one of the recorded videos, the clandestine nursing home staff is seen mistreating a woman who was
tied to her chair with sheets
, unable to defend herself.
The strong images are part of the complaint received by the Police and which led to the ongoing judicial investigation.
The nursing home, located in La Guarda 621, worked remarkably without the
corresponding
municipal authorization

It also lacked the minimum building conditions and comfort for the accommodation of patients, judicial sources indicated.
The complaint prompted an investigation in which the owner of the place and the employees were identified.
Five people were implicated in an investigation for
"abandonment of persons"
.
After gathering the evidence, a raid was carried out this Tuesday in which, in addition to police officers, municipal personnel and the Ecological Police, in charge of the prior disinfection of mobile phones and the elements used in order to protect the health of the elderly.
The raid also had the support of SAME, Bromatology, Civil Defense and Urban Patrol, among others.
Fourteen seniors were sheltered after being housed in "subhuman conditions" with "capacity overcrowded housing and
overcrowding
."
One of the elderly had to be admitted to the Iriarte Hospital because his health was "compromised."
The rest of the residents were handed over to their families for safekeeping.
As reported, the place had two small rooms with four beds each and a makeshift bedroom in a garage with six beds, all with foam rubber mattresses in poor condition.
The municipal Inspection Agency closed the nursing home and Bromatology carried out an infraction act by seizing merchandise in poor condition, expired medicines and food, as well as the medical records of the elderly housed.
