Usually he is known to be more well-trained, for example as detective Lowrey in one of his "Bad Boys" films. But now his fat belly went through the channels: "I'm in the worst shape of my life," Will Smith wrote on Instagram these days. In addition, the actor showed himself in a photo in a wrinkled training jacket and foot slippers, a small plauze protruded over his pants.
Smith garnered millions of likes with the photo; Apparently many feel like the star at the moment. It was probably also a particularly clever advertisement for Smith's new production: Just one day later, the actor announced that he would work off the excessive pounds again - for a new series for YouTube Originals. In a video, he posted again topless: "This is the stomach that has carried me through the whole pandemic," wrote Smith. He loves his body - but: "I want to feel better."
The six-part series should be called "Best Shape Of His Life" and accompany Smith during training.
It is produced by Smith's company "Westbrook Media".
The start is planned for 2022.
Will Smith should already have had enough practice: For his role as Muhammad Ali, according to the Daily Mail, he is said to have consciously put on a few pounds a few years ago - in order to starve himself down again for "Men in Black" immediately afterwards.
It's not the first project for Smith with YouTube Originals.
For his 50th birthday, he had himself filmed while bungee jumping in the Grand Canyon - and sold the promotion.
Working with prominent artists and movie stars has become part of YouTube Originals' business strategy.
YouTube Originals had already announced several projects with musicians like Quavo and the rappers of the band Migos for the coming months.
Singer Alicia Keys will also get her own documentary series on YouTube this summer.
In an interview, YouTube manager Robert Kyncl said, according to Variety, that he wanted to work “as a creative person” in the place “that has the greatest reach”.
