The bite that HBO throws fans of "Game of Thrones" is not particularly spectacular.
You will still pounce on it: The broadcaster has published pictures of the series "House of Dragon" for the first time.
The prequel of »GoT« tells what happened 300 years earlier on Westeros and Essos.
The story is based on George RR Martin's "Fire and Blood" and is intended to illuminate the history of the House of Targaryen.
Filming started at the end of April.
Members of this family can also be seen in the pictures: Emma D'Arcy as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen and Matt Smith as Prince Daemon Targaryen.
Smith is known, among other things, as Prince Philip from "The Crown".

In his new project he plays Daemon, the younger brother of King Viserys.
Deamon is heir to the throne and, according to the producers, an "incomparable warrior and dragon rider" who has "the true blood of the dragon".
Olivia Cooke also takes on a leading role and can be seen in the pictures: She plays Alicent Hightower, the daughter of Otto Hightower, the king's right-hand man.

The third photo shows Steve Toussaint as Lord Corlys Velaryon, head of House Velaryon, also known as the sea serpent.
HBO calls him the most famous "nautical adventurer" in Westeros history.
He is therefore richer than the house Lannister, known for his fortune, and has the largest sea fleet.

The eighth and final season of the award-winning saga "Game of Thrones" aired in May 2019.
"House of Dragons" is scheduled to air in 2022 and is one of several planned spin-offs.
Otherwise only a few details are known.
Last December, HBO revealed that Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke and Emma D'Arcy will star.
The magazine Variety also reported in early 2021 that Martin's story "Tales of Dunk and Egg" would also get a series adaptation.
