A 69-year-old found a wallet with a large sum in Bavaria.
He gave his find to the Straubing police, as the officials announced.
Accordingly, the passer-by found the valuable piece on a park bench in the Lower Bavarian town of Straubing.
He went straight to the police with it.
According to the information, there were 15,000 euros in the exchange.
A spokeswoman was unable to provide any information about the denomination upon request.
Wallet with many compartments
She said it was a waiter's wallet with several compartments for bills, like the ones used in restaurants.
However, the owner of the exchange has no relation to the industry.
The owner, a 60-year-old, had called the police before the find and reported that he had lost his wallet.
The man was "visibly relieved" when he was given the purse.
The police did not provide any information about the origin of the money.
According to the police, the finder claimed a finder's fee.
It is unclear whether he got this.
