The company states in a note, citing the first results of an ongoing clinical study, with which Moderna is testing a 50 microgram booster dose in individuals already vaccinated.

The results show that this increased neutralizing antibody responses against the original virus, as well as against variant B.1.351 and P.1, identified in South Africa and Brazil.

The booster doses were "generally well tolerated".
