(ANSA) - LONDON, MAY 07 - First blow in favor of BorisJohnson in yesterday's local electoral round in the United Kingdom, the largest ever excluding general political elections. His Conservative Party has in fact wrested Hartlepool's college (in the former 'red wall' of northern England) after 57 years from Labor, which has just recognized the blow, electing Jill Mortimer to the House of Commons in the only national by-vote. As for the administrative offices, seats have so far been assigned in a dozen out of 143 English local councils, while the outcome of the crucial vote in Scotland and Wales and for the mayor of London is expected within tomorrow.
