The Ministry of Health of the Nation reported this Friday
611 deaths and another 22,552 cases
of coronavirus throughout the country.
This is the second highest death toll for a day, only surpassed by the record of 663 from last Wednesday.
In this way, Argentina has already accumulated 66,872 fatalities and 3,118,134 infections since the beginning of the pandemic.
In the last hours, President Alberto Fernández confirmed that another Aerolineas Argentinas flight will depart this morning to Moscow to bring more doses of the Russian
Sputnik V
vaccine

"At 2 in the morning tomorrow an Aerolineas Argentinas flight leaves for Russia to bring new vaccines and we will also receive Covax vaccines in the next few days. And we are working to get more vaccines. And we will continue to have a good frequency of vaccines that allow us to continue with this vaccination process that in Buenos Aires I have seen very well how it works, "said the president when participating in an act by videoconference.
It is the
fourteenth freighter to and from the Russian Federation
and is scheduled to take off on Saturday at 2 a.m. under flight number AR1080, estimating its arrival at Sheremetievo International Airport, around Russian midnight, after just over 15 travel time.
Throughout the country there are more than 5,200 people hospitalized in intensive care for Covid-19.

As in previous flights, the vaccines produced by the Gamaleya Institute will be transported in "thermobox" type containers at a temperature of 18 degrees below zero and with an additional refrigeration load.
The flight will be operated by the Airbus 330 with registration LV-GIF, which was modified to function as a freighter and will be in charge, as on previous occasions, by a crew made up of 20 people, 10 between commanders and co-pilots and the rest made up of maintenance personnel, dispatch technician and cabin crew.
After completing the stowage process of the vaccine cargo, the aircraft will return with flight number AR1081 and after approximately 16 hours of travel, it will land at Ezeiza airport around 7pm on Sunday.
So far, 9,642,490 vaccines have arrived in 18 flights completed by Airlines, 13 from Moscow with 6,033,290 doses of Sputnik V and 5 from Beijing with 3,659,200 doses of Sinopharm, out of a
total of 11,698,145 doses that entered to the country in 22 flights

The vaccination plan, unchanged
For her part, the Minister of Health, Carla Vizzotti, asserted that
"all people are going to complete their vaccination
schedule
"
, which includes the application of two doses, and announced that, as of May 19, 861,000 vaccines will be released Astrazeneca for Argentina through the Covax mechanism, which would arrive in the country on the 21st.
He also maintained that the "exponential increase" in coronavirus infections "
has stopped"
and "stabilized", but stressed that it is necessary to "continue working" so that cases continue to decline.

The international mechanism Covax brought to the country just over 1 million doses between March and April, so those that will be received in May will allow completing the scheme of those who have already received the first inoculation.
In that sense, the minister clarified that, as is happening with those who received the Chinese Sinopharm vaccines, both those vaccinated with
AstraZeneca
and the Russian Sputnik V, "all people will complete their vaccination schedule."
For this reason, he clarified that they are working with the Russian Gamaleya institute to agree on the arrival deadlines of the second components of their vaccine.
