Désirée Nosbusch: "secret empress"

Actress Désirée Nosbusch will take on the role of Archduchess Sophie in the new TVnow series »Sisi«.
With the impersonation of the mother of Emperor Franz Joseph I, a “girl's dream” came true, said the 56-year-old in a message from the RTL media group: “She was the political mastermind behind her son and often became the 'secret empress'. Most recently, Nosbusch played the scheming investment banker Christelle Leblanc in the series “Bad Banks”.
TVnow, the media group RTL's streaming platform, plans to include the "event series" in its program as early as the end of 2021.
Emperor Franz Joseph I is played by Jannik Schümann, the eponymous Austrian Empress Sisi embodies Dominique Devenport.
Shooting will continue in Bavaria, Austria, Latvia, Lithuania and Budapest until August.
The life of Elisabeth of Austria-Hungary (1837-1898) - also known as Sisi or incorrectly Sissi - has already been filmed several times.
The streaming platform Netflix is also planning a series project with young actress Devrim Lingnau in the lead role.
But best known is the feature film trilogy with Romy Schneider and Karlheinz Böhm from the 1950s.
