August 31, 2026: this is the deadline by which all the projects envisaged by the NRP must be "implemented"

.

This can be read in the files of the Recovery sent by the government to the EU and to the Italian Parliament, which ANSA is in possession of.

By the end of August 2026, the various works must therefore not only be "defined, sent and obtain the formal green light" but also be "effectively implemented" as established by European regulations.

A total of 2,487 pages of the project sheets

accompanying the Italian Recovery plan have not yet been made public and which ANSA has come into possession of. The dossier, which includes the PNRR already published online, is accompanied by tables and maps to illustrate the various works, starting with the railway ones and indicates the time schedule in detail. Much of the document is in English.

There are three levels of governance of the NRP indicated in detail in the project files.

The implementation of the plan will take place in three steps: the implementation of the interventions that will report to the ministries, the Regions and the local authorities, each in its own competence; the central coordination for monitoring the implementation and reporting to the European Commission which will be entrusted to a specific structure at the Mef, which will be the contact point with the EU; finally, the monitoring of the progress of the Plan and any proposal to activate the replacement powers is entrusted to a 'control room' in Palazzo Chigi.
