(ANSA) - NEW YORK, MAY 08 - The storm over Hollywood ForeignPress shows no sign of abating: first Netflix and then Amazon have cut ties with the organization that awards the Golden Globes every year until the latter adopts "reforms more significant "in terms of membership and ethical rules.

The association of foreign journalists in Hollywood had ended up in the storm after a "Los Angeles Times" investigation published on the eve of this year's ceremony. "We haven't worked with HFPA since these issues were raised and, like the rest of the industry, we expect a stronger response to change positions," said Amazon head Jennifer Salke.

A few hours earlier it was Netflix who gave the line: the streaming giant that this year received more nominations (42) and more Golden Globes (10) than any other Hollywood studio had closed relations with the organization behind the unexpected awards of a real reform. The warning came in the form of a letter from co-CEO and head of content Ted Sarandos at the top of HFPA shortly after the association's assembly approved a series of measures proposed by the board.

Accused of being a "caste" that does not include black journalists, the association adopted a plan two days ago under which it pledged to increase the number of black reporters, while introducing restrictions on studies and payments that members have so far received to serve on its committees. According to Sarandos, the approved reform is not enough to signal a real change of direction: the head of Netflix has judged unacceptable the times that the Hfpa has given itself to increase its membership by 50% (currently 86 journalists, none of them black) over the next 18 months.
