Argentine heart could be called the instagram account of Luis Arregui Henk or Lajos (29), as his friends call him. He was born in Tokyo, Japan, but his father is Argentine and his mother Hungarian. After several twists and turns and personal unforeseen events, he landed in Argentina in 2010 to study Agricultural Engineering at the UCA and start a new life. He graduated, started working on his own business, and in 2019 life struck him the hardest and most unexpected blow: he
was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
Suddenly Lajos's life collapsed.
The first symptoms were fatigue, shortness of breath, and her face began to look paler than normal
.
It was one day while riding a bike that he realized something was wrong: he saw a tunnel, got dizzy and fell.
"The doctors explained to me that there was no way to predict the disease, it is as if I had been struck by lightning," emphasized Lajos, currently admitted to the Italian Hospital.
Luis, in full treatment for blood cancer.
Despite having responded well, in the first instance, to treatment and brought the disease down to a minimal residual - when it is no longer detectable in the body -
the doctors told him that a bone marrow transplant was necessary
.
He waited months for the arrival of a donor who never showed up, and finally it was his own mother who donated his bone marrow.
"My marrow is quite unique and it just happened that there was a compatible person in the world, they contacted her but at the last minute she canceled, she said she didn't want to do it," Lajos said.
Memories of childhood.

The transplant with his mother was successful, but months later and through quarantine, symptoms of decay reappeared and the doctors told him that they had not managed to fight the disease at all and gave him three alternatives:
do nothing and wait for the disease to subside, get a bone marrow that is more compatible or
travel to the United States for a special treatment: the
Car T Cell
.
The
Car T Cell
is a very specific treatment in which T cells - a type of immune cells - are extracted and genetically altered and then reinjected into the body so that they can treat this special leukemia.
While doing cancer treatment, Luis took the opportunity to study.
The treatment has an approximate value of $ 500,000 and is so high because it is an innovative therapy that it also requires time and professional teams dedicated 24 hours.
Lajos has already received different donations, but it is still a long way from getting that sum of money.
For this, he made the decision to start selling
crypto art.
“I made what is called a collection in the world of NFTs.
It would be a certain number of works that are part of a collection dedicated to one thing.
For example, my collection is dedicated to paying for my cancer treatment, ”he explains.

While he was interned, Lajos studied Programming and 3D Art and the result was the birth of his
own collection of 50 digital works, which he already sells in the NFTs market.
An NFT or non-fungible token is a 100% digital item.
It can be a work of art, a video, a musical composition, or anything else that can be sold like bitcoin and cryptocurrencies.
In the case of art, it is an original way to digitize the works and sell them in a new market, also a safer method.

The money that Luis obtains for his treatment will be destined to another patient if a compatible bone marrow donor appears first.
"All money that I earn from this collection and from this donation campaign
will be dedicated 100% to cancer treatment
, be it mine or someone else's," he promised.
