(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 08 - The value of a 'bear's head' designed by Leonardo DaVinci, which will be auctioned at Christie's on July 8 in London, is estimated at between 9 and over 13 million euros. The work was made in silver tip on pre-prepared paper, a technique that Leonardo learned from his master Verrocchio, as explained by the auction house, recalling that it is one of his few sketches still remaining in private hands, and that it represents a precious example of his scientific interest and his sensitivity towards the natural world. The 'Bear's head', square in shape, 7 centimeters per side, bears the signature of the Renaissance genius at the bottom left.
It will be exhibited in Christie's galleries in New York. (HANDLE).
