Fourth consecutive electoral victory for Nicola Sturgeon's SNP separatists in Scotland's crucial vote in British local consultations, but no absolute majority in the Edinburgh Parliament. According to the calculations of the BBC, the secessionists, who aimed at this goal to give greater strength to the request for a referendum bis on farewell to London, hitherto denied by the central government of Boris Johnson, get 63 seats as in 2016. Enough to secure the leadership of the next local government, but not to touch 65 which would have given them 50% plus one of the assembly. The projections of the BBC, while the counting is about to conclude and pending the official proclamation, anticipate theassignment of the minority quota of seats destined to be attributed through voting to the lists with a compensation system with respect to the now complete and definitive results of the majority constituencies (in which the SNP has almost made the en plein).

Based on this estimate, Sturgeon's party remains two seats from the absolute majority, with the same numbers as 5 years ago and one seat less than the all-time record (64) of 2010. While Boris Johnson's conservatives remain second force with 31 seats, as in 2016, confirming Keir Starmer's historic overtaking on Labor, who lose another 2 seats and stop at 22.
