The eldest son of the late Zulu king of South Africa, Goodwill Zwelithini, has been chosen as the successor to the throne, concluding a bitter family feud for the succession for now. This was reported by the BBC website.
Prince Misizulu, 46, was named king in the will of Zulu queen Mantfombi Dlamini-Zulu - her mother and regent - who died unexpectedly last week.
During the reading of the will last night at the Royal Palace of KwaKhangelamankengane and broadcast on television, some family members openly expressed their disapproval and Prince Misizulu was taken away by armed security. The Zulus are the largest ethnic group in South Africa and their kings have no formal political power but great influence over millions of people.
