World Day of Red Cross and Red Crescent
will not be a party but
"the celebration of the enormous efforts of the volunteers of the Italian Red Cross, so much in the forefront in the fight against the pandemic as in all other activities that have continued to advance, non-stop

This was stated by the president of the Italian Red Cross and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies Francesco Rocca, who recalls the "enormous work" done for the covid in one and a half million days of volunteering since the beginning of the pandemic.
For the day, established on 8 May on the occasion of the anniversary of the birth of its founder Henry Dunant, the Red Cross has put in place numerous initiatives to recognize the work of over 150 thousand CRI volunteers throughout Italy and also of the approximately 50,000 people who they applied to join the "temporary volunteer" program. On the social channels, the campaign has the hashtag

, launched by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent.

For today there will be an evening streaming event "Many Hearts One Love", which will be attended by, among others, Milo Manara and Michelangelo Pistoletto, Malika Ayane, John Mclaughlin, Ermal Meta, Paolo Fresu & Bebo Ferra, Olivia Trummer, Enrico Ruggeri, Tosca with the aim of supporting the 14 million volunteers of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, spread across 192 countries.
