Consumers currently have to be careful with some sausage packs.
Ökoland and Meica are each recalling seven products for the same reason.
Munich - Summer temperatures, sunshine and Mother's Day.
On Sunday (May 9th) many will be drawn outside to have a barbecue.
But caution is advised when choosing sausages.
Two manufacturers are recalling classic grilled sausages.
Sausage recall at Meica: Seven different types of sausage affected
Be careful with various types of sausage from the Bratmaxe brand from Meica Ammerländische Fleischwarenfabrik.
Due to a “technical defect in a cold room”, it cannot be ruled out that the affected products “could have come into contact with very small amounts of a water-refrigerant mixture.” The error caused the sausages to taste bitter.
They are not suitable for consumption.
However, the manufacturer also points out in the warning that "a health hazard due to the bitter taste and the very small amount entered must be ruled out".
Only the products with the following best-before dates are affected.
According to the manufacturer, the date can be found “in the upper left or lower right corner”.

Buyers of the affected products can "return the sausages to their shops".
This is also possible without a receipt.
The manufacturer informs the customer that the purchase price is reimbursed.
It goes on to say: "The company very much regrets that this recall has taken place and apologizes to all consumers for any inconvenience this may cause."

Sausage recall at Ökoland: Seven products also affected - same contamination as at Meica
Shortly before Mother's Day there is another sausage recall.
Ökoland GmbH Nord also warns of seven different products from its range.
As with Meica, the time frame for the contamination must be clearly limited.
Only certain best before dates are therefore affected.
These are "printed on the back of the packaging in white", according to the manufacturer.

The problem is the same as in the previous Meica recall.
The sausages may have come into contact with “small amounts of a water-refrigerant mixture”.
A health hazard can also be ruled out and "affected sausages can be recognized by their bitter taste."

As with Meica, customers can also return the affected grilled sausages in the supermarket for a refund of the purchase price.
A receipt does not have to be presented.
However, recalls are not always harmless.
A recalled product from Aldi poses a health risk.
But when do callbacks actually have to be started?
