Tinder co-founder and Bumble CEO Whitney Wolfe Herd wants "women to take back their relationships" on dating apps.
Why do you want to change the behavior of people on your dating site?
WHITNEY WOLFE HERD.
On social networks, we see so many negative, disrespectful comments, abusive messages… It's demoralizing.
There is a real problem on the Internet today and especially with dating applications.
Women are always waiting, men dominate everything, just like in real life, and there are no rules to frame it all.
It is time to fix it.
Bumble has always wanted women to take charge of their relationships.
We wish to highlight certain values such as respect, trust ...

How do you concretely want to go about it?
We are implementing concrete tools using artificial intelligence, such as a detector that blurs indecent photographs.
We have also created a system which makes it possible to no longer let go of what is called body shaming, hateful, racist or insulting comments.
If you run a restaurant and you try to make it a solidary establishment, with a nice atmosphere, healthy food, I'm sure that the people who frequent the restaurant will try to behave properly.
This is what we are trying to do.
I am not saying that we are going to change men and women, I am saying that we will no longer tolerate bad behavior.
In France, Bumble remains less well known than Tinder, which you also co-founded.
How to improve your popularity?
Bumble is not an answer, nor a competitor of Tinder. We have a different offer, we have our mind, our users. We don't always want to be brought back to them. Unlike Tinder, we allow women to take the first step, it is a strong expectation of French women, more than Americans who prefer that men flirt with them! Bumble is the result of different experiences that I have had in my life. I had already lived 22 years before founding Tinder.
