Sometimes the fear of a spider is so great that you have to call for help.
Then the mother, father or a friend comes and helps.
It becomes uncomfortable, however, when nobody hears the calls for help - and then the police have to move in.
This is what happened on Monday night in Willich, North Rhine-Westphalia.
A 15-year-old woman was so panicked by a spider that she called for help.
Neighbors heard the cries for help around 11:30 p.m. from the apartment of an apartment building and called the police.
The emergency services who had arrived knocked on the door several times.
But instead of opening the door, the young woman called from the apartment that she needed help and that the police should "finally come in".
So said the police.
Finally, the officers kicked in the door and stormed the home.
There they met a 15-year-old "in total panic" who pointed to "something" on the floor.
The intruder turned out to be a harmless spider.
According to her own account, the young person had stood on the bed for an hour and called for help.
The mother, who lived in the same house, had not heard this - but the attentive neighbors did.
