- The first classification of the places of purchase and consumption outside the home in Italy arrives, divided by type of premises and by characteristics, from wine bars to vending machines, from canteens to yoghurt shops, from hotel restaurants to fast food restaurants. A common reading shared by the foodservice actors who participated in the working group with which GS1 Italy continues in its path of support to the extra-domestic supply chain, from producers to chains of public places, to accompany it in the post Covid-19 restart. Made available to the entire business community and downloadable for free from the GS1 Italy website, the work represents an epochal step forward, say the promoters, for the supply chain that suffers from reduced coordination moments.
"The goal was to reach a shared vision of the foodservice on which to converge all the companies present in this large sector - explains the manager of GS1 Italy, Paolo Cibien - to promote better efficiency and effectiveness in the activities and relationships between businesses and towards the final consumer ". A result achieved in collaboration with TradeLab with the working group made up of 14 of the main players in the supply chain: Arca-Unicomm, Cateringross, Coca Cola HBC Italia, Coperama, Dolcitalia, Ferrero, First - Barilla Group, Lactalis, Lavazza Group, Marr, Metro Italia Cash and Carry, Mondelez Italy, Partesa - Heineken Italy, San Carlo.
