Make muesli bars yourself: this is how it works

  • Preheat the oven to 180 ° C top / bottom heat and line a tray with baking paper.

  • Coarsely chop the nuts / kernels of your choice, the apple rings / apricots and the cranberries / raisins separately one after the other in the blitz chopper - not too fine, otherwise the bars will not be crispy!

  • Melt the butter in a small saucepan over low heat.

Put the melted butter, honey, orange juice and egg yolks in a bowl and beat everything until frothy.

  • Mix in the oatmeal, chopped nuts and dried fruits with a wooden spoon.

  • Place the wafers side by side on the baking sheet.

Use a spatula or palette to spread the muesli mixture evenly over the wafers.

  • Bake everything in the oven on the middle rack for about 10 minutes and then let it cool down.

  • Cut each plate into 5 strips and halve these strips again to make 20 granola bars.

  • If you prefer to make a

    chocolate bar out of

it, you can simply decorate the finished granola bars with a few strips of liquid dark chocolate.

Heavenly delicious and much better than any bar bought!

    The

    best way to

    store

the homemade granola bars is to separate them with greaseproof paper in an airtight container.

If they contain chocolate, bars should be stored in the refrigerator, especially in summer.
