A truck driver on the Autobahn 20 near Rostock was taken out of traffic with 3.81 per mille.

The truck was traveling noticeably slowly in the direction of Lübeck and kept coming off the right lane, the police said.

Other drivers noticed this and then alerted the emergency services.

At the level of a parking lot, the truck finally left the motorway and came to a standstill.

The police checked the driver there - and noticed a strong smell of alcohol, according to a message.

Apparently the man could "hardly stand and kept falling". A breath alcohol test showed 3.81 per mille. More than three per mille can generally be fatal.

The man's keys and driver's license were taken away and he was taken into custody.

He is now threatened with a case of drunk driving.
