The case of Lara Lugli has been solved: her former club, Volley Pordenone, "withdrew the summons and complied with all obligations towards Lara Lugli".
This was announced by Assist, the national association of athletes.
The question between the volleyball player, who did not receive the remuneration from the company after the termination of the contract for a pregnancy, and her former club, will therefore not go to court: the hearing was scheduled for 18 May.
"It is a great victory for everyone - the comment of Lara Lugli - and it was very important that this case does not even enter a court to demonstrate its groundlessness. It is a strong signal for all women, not only athletes who are faced with these absurd situations. I want to thank all those who have been by my side, in particular my lawyer Bonifacio Giudice Andrea, my agent Stefano Franchini, Assist and Aip, because their support was fundamental for me ", concluded the ex volleyball player.
The president of federvolley Giuseppe Manfredi (Federvolley) is satisfied, for whom "it is absolutely unacceptable to consider motherhood as a just cause for contractual termination attributable to a future mother. I can also anticipate that the establishment of an Equal Opportunities Commission will be proposed in the next Federal Council , aimed primarily at monitoring, promoting and supporting the rights of athletes ".
