(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 15 - Gabriele Albertini has not accepted the candidacy for mayor of Milan for the center-right, He announced it on his website www.gabrielealbertini.com after days of devotion, indiscretions and requests from the parties that make up the co-association.
"Unfortunately - he wrote today - I must communicate that for a number of personal reasons I cannot accept this generous opportunity offered to me."
Albertini was mayor of Milan for two terms, from 1997 to 2006. On the choice of today, the former mayor had said in recent days that he would have dissolved his reservations on May 15, "the day of the anniversary of my first oath as mayor" (ANSA) .
