(ANSA) - TEHRAN, MAY 16 - Concrete actions by the international community against the Israeli attacks in Gaza were solicited today by Iranian President Hassan Rohani and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan during a telephone conversation.

"An immediate end to the savage attacks and killings of oppressed and defenseless Palestinians" was demanded by Rohani, according to the Irna news agency. "Iran and Turkey, in their role as important and influential countries in the region, must unite and work through international organizations to deal with Zionist atrocities," added the Iranian president.

For his part, Erdogan, always quoted by IRNA, appealed to the Islamic world to unite and induce the international community to adopt "strong and deterrent" measures to stop "the Israeli attacks and massacres". (HANDLE).
