By launching himself almost a year before the start of the pandemic in his first lyrical staging, at the request of the conductor Laurence Equilbey, Antonin Baudry had no idea of the crisis which particularly loomed over the world of culture. … And even less suspected that their show, scheduled for around May 19, would be part of the creations accompanying the reopening of the stages. It's a crazy story.
I was in the United States with some friends right after my film came out.
One day, during a ballad, they tell me:
"We knew you as a diplomat, comic book author, bookseller, unemployed person, director… We have trouble following you."
