Planting trees around the UK in order to honor the Platinum Jubilee of 95-year-old Queen Elizabeth (her 70th anniversary, expected in 2022) in the name of greenery and an environmental cause dear to the eternal Prince Charles in particular heir to the crown.
This is the initiative officially launched today by the British royal house, after the ceremony in which the same sovereign and her eldest son symbolically planted a first tree in the park of Windsor Castle.
A gesture to which the Prince of Wales invited all subjects to join - in a video message to the nation - to make the next jubilee ("jubilee" in English) "a tree-bilee", that is a jubilee of trees. The company, conceived by an ecological organization of which Carlo is patron, Cool Earth, is invited to join individuals, local authorities, collective and neighborhood associations. Schools and communities across the island will also be able to support quotas of the 3 million saplings the UK Woodland Trust has pledged to plant as part of the project.
