(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 17 - The Government is looking for another 4 large ships to allocate - in the period from June 1 to July 30 - for the quarantine of people who disembark, "in consideration of the persistence of the health emergency in progress and the probable increase in the number of migrants in I arrive in the summer ".
This is foreseen by a command of the Civil Protection.
Interested operators have until 8pm next Thursday to submit their application.
The ships, foresees the notice, will have to host from a minimum of 300 to a maximum of 400 migrants each, "be regularly armed and equipped" and able to "reach, within 24 hours following the signing of the charter contract, the coast of Sicily, Calabria, Sardinia or FriuliVenezia Giulia or any other place on the national territory where the emergency context occurs ".
The units will also be able to have from 361 to 460 cabins and the estimated maximum cost for the provision of the service is 36 thousand euros per day, equal to 25 euros per day per guest.
